Baby Z's first Bulls Game

We went to the Bulks/Heat game last week. It was thrilling! We had
great seats and Derrick Rose handed it to LaBron James. Baby Z loved
all of the noise and the excitement. Added bonus? Kanye West was
sitting court side. He's the second one in (next to the red head) on
the left side of the court. You could see his hold watch sparkle from
where we were sitting.

Daisy's getting ready

Daisy loves all of the soft baby things. We've been working hard all
weekend getting ready for the baby. It's insane how much laundry we
have already!! But at least we can rest easy. The car seat is in and
the hospital bag is packed. I can't believe it's March tomorrow. We're
into the final count down.

5 weeks to go. I can't tell you how excited we are to finally meet the
little guy.

my favorite baby product to date

Please meet our new Beaba Babycook
I can't tell you how excited I am about this little ditty.
Steamer, blender, defroster - all in one. Plus, it's cute as a button!
I'm almost disappointed that I have to wait 6 months to use it!

34 Weeks and counting

It took 34 weeks and 3 days, but it finally happened. I just got kicked in the ribs.

At this point, he's throwing his weight around in there, causing quite a show if you happen to catch it. He's bottom up now, so I catch all of the kicks up high, which is slightly more comfortable then when there were kicking organs. Although, the pressure of his head does make me have to pee every 37 seconds. (TMI? Sorry.)

As the weeks progress, I'm sure I will grow less and less comfortable all together, but I have to remember... I'm not the one stuffed into another human being. If I'm uncomfortable, I can only imagine how he feels!

Good News - after the 34 week mark, we're officially in the 'safe' zone. I'd still like to him to hold out for a March birthday, but it's a relief that we're in the clear (developmentally speaking). (Knock wood!)

Have a great weekend! Sunday, we have the baby class "Great Expectations", where we learn all about the labor and delivery process at the Northwestern Prentice Women's Hospital. I'm sure that will be an eye opener. Stay tuned for our reactions.

Hangin' out

Ready to Go!

We had a little extra time the other day, so we took out the stroller, car seat and gave it all a test drive. That bear is not only tucked warm and cozy into his BundleMe - but he's also doning one of our new cloth diaper wraps. Looks like we're ready to go for Baby Z! This weekends assignment: back the hospital bag. Just about everyone I know has delivered between 2 and 4 weeks early, and I'm not taking any chances of not being ready when the little guy decides to make his debut.

Went to the docs yesterday and we're both doing great. "33 for 33" - (33 cm's, or inches, in 33 weeks) The doc was happy about it, so apparently, we're right on schedule. I've officially turned the corner from feeling "Great!" to feeling weighed down, sore and relatively uncomfortable. But still happy to report that heartburn, swollen feet, and some of the other unglamorous side effects of pregnancy have stayed at bay. My biggest complaint? I've grown through yet ANOTHER set of clothes. I'm going to be wearing sweatpants to work by the time we get into March. If I'm lucky, they'll still be mine.

32 Weeks: Snowpocalypse 2011

32 Weeks - and we get a snow day! Almost 20 inches of snow fall over night and into the day, and we both get to 'work from home'. While we actually did get some work done, we also made time to get bundled up and hike down the street to check out the neighborhood and grab some lunch. After a feast at Potbelly Sandwich Works, we shuffled home and cuddled back into the nice warm house.

It's been between -5 and 10 degrees since then, and the snow hasn't gone anywhere! There will probably be piles of snow still on the streets when the baby comes.
